„Yea, my mother is going to get a technivorm for CHristmas. All she does is make coffee in the morning. I looked at the Braun she has and it just looks like a small blender, I just figured if it would grind coffee beans the vitamix would really grind coffee beans.“

„While this grinder does cost twice the price of the Braun, if you are looking for a machine to do grinds for an espresso machine than the Solis is definitely worth considering-you will probably find that you cannot get a fine enough grind with a machine like the Braun. Finally, if you are looking at getting a more expensive machine, then you might want to first read the reviews posted at sites like coffeegeek.com and wholelattelove.com to help you make an informed decision.--This text refers toan alternate option.“

„Grinding coffee beans yourself has the advantage in that you grind only the required amount of coffee beans. For optimal, fresh aroma you can put together your preferred blend of favorite coffee beans.“

„A problem: It does hold back a small amount of grind in the chute, a problem with every coffee mill including professional ones. It's a complaint people have with dosers on espresso mills too. In cupping, the standard is to toss a few beans into the mill and grind them to clear the last coffee.“

„I find this grinder easy to use, does not grind at a high speed, like my years old Braun, and produces consistent results on anything from expresso to French press--I've not tried Turkish, and there is a minimum of static build up. I do not store any beans in the hopper as it is not air-tight. I usually grind enough for two or three days, store the grindings in an air-tight container, and lightly clean the inside of the grinder (with a 1/2" diameter round brush) after each use--I try to avoid any two-day old grindings mingled with freshly ground beans.“

„While I could wax poetically about the proper brew, grind, and tamp I need only reinforce that one can not truly live this experience without a good coffee. Does this mean that you must go out and buy a fancy new home espresso/cappuccino machine? No. Can you get by with a wonderfully strong pot of drip/pour-over coffee?“
