View topic - Hand Crank Grinders - Coffee Forum (#)
„Zassenhaus is the brand to get. There are look-alike hand grinders that are cheaper but don't grind consistently enough to deliver good results in an espresso machine. Check Sweet Maria's at http://sweetmarias.com“

„That's beyond the scope of this article, but there is a resource to help those who wish to improve upon the original design. Sweet Maria's which sells both home roasting equipment and green coffee beans has a Home Coffee Roasting Mailing List . This is an excellent resource for all home roasters, not just users of the Fresh Roast machine.“

„First thing I did after buying the coffeemaker was to go on to the SweetMaria's site (www.sweetmarias.com ) and purchased a SwissGold #2 filter cone. I put in some home roasted Yirgacheffe ,28 grams, ground on the fine side, added 20 ounces of water to the machine's water reservoir, and hit the brew switch. The results were very similar to some vacuum pots that I have used.“

„As for the grade as you can see at [Sweat Marias Click Here (www.sweetmarias.com ) about Ethiopian Yirgacheffe (Grade Two) there is no grade 1. Tom at Maria's says that it is based on bean size and doesn't reflect the cup quality of Ethiopians since they tend to have small bean size. With other beans I dunno I'll just take Tom's word for it.“
