„Starbucks, which says Fair Trade coffee accounts for about 1 percent of the coffee it buys, started an incentive system three years ago that paid premiums of up to 10 cents a pound to growers who met certain social and environmental criteria, such as paying at least minimum wage and treating and recycling the water used to wash beans. Starbucks says it paid an average of $1.20 a pound for the unroasted coffee it bought last year.“

„I called Starbucks customer support, and they were nice, but made it clear that with a machine that old what they could offer in support was limited. Turns out I'm going to have to shell out another $35 for parts to just test the machine (other than running water through the brew head or steam wand.)“

„wow tell a pediatrician that one. And my point was i would like to enjoy coffee and coffee products without parents who let their young children drink coffee trying to shut down starbucks because their children are gonna drink their alcohol products now. makes no sense. They should worry about other problems out there.“

„Could anybody suggest anybody that sells beans online that are better than Starbucks but would cost the same (as buying Starbucks local) including shipping? I tend to like the way Starbucks roasts their coffees (I KNOW many of you will disagree) so I like darker roasts and pretty much only like coffee from the Americas. Anybody that has free samples would be great too. I did try one that I won't name that was a disappointment.“

„I agree about Starbucks opening up the specialty coffee market. I don't drink their coffee (why would when I have so much else available?), but they definitely ave done a lot for the industry. They've even started to make some headway in roasting for the market they're in, so that not all of their coffee has that "Charbucks" quality that they becam famous for.“
