„That said, one ought to realize that they cannot produce true crema-laden espresso without a grinder capable of producing an even, fine espresso grind, coupled with freshly roasted beans. This machine ought to be paired with the Gaggia MDF grinder, a Rancilio Rocky, or a Mazzer Mini. For those on a budget, you might be able to get away with a Solis Maestro Plus, but be very careful about other budget grinders. Gagggia's budget burr grinder (not the MDF), for example, is not up to the task.“

„In the evening, I roast a batch, and leave it in the hearthware. in the morning, I dump the beans into my grinder, grind them all, and brew a 12 cup batch in our braun coffeemachine. There are three coffeedrinkers in our house and we all think we are having the best coffee we ever had.“

„I'm not kidding. You can make a shot of espresso with a good quality grinder and a budget espresso machine that is much better than a shot made with a $1000 espresso machine and beans ground in a cheap grinder, or worse, store-ground beans. The espresso machine is sexy....and the grinder is like, an afterthought, I know - but don't fall into that trap.“

„You may use quality beans, but a lot of roasters and nearly ALL of the large commercial roasters will buy cheaper beans and set them aside for use as their flavored coffee beans.“
