The Coffees of Indonesia: Papua New Guinea (#)
„Much of the seedstock on Papua New Guinea is planted from the Jamaican Blue Mountain var. typica arabica, and with the Arushi typica varietal from Tanzania. Some are more modern hybrids or the Indian "Kent" varietal“

„Salvador: Ah Pacamara! Like Maragogype it is a large bean arabica varietal and these are very big and potently bright, I know in beer they talk about ''hop-heads'' and in wine there is ''dry'' but in coffee there are legions of people who feel that brightness IS the flavor of coffee and eschew the low-acid coffees that completely miss the front of your palate. These are the Kenya people (who should be thrilled this year with the quality of the crop) and the Costa Rican folks. Well, they need to get hip to the Pacamara.“

„As in wine, soil, climate and cultivation methods affect the taste of your coffee. The term varietal is actually a misnomer, since Arabica coffee plants are basically of the same species, unlike wine grapes which come from different species of grape vines.“

„... adds 10% hazelnut flavored coffee to their house blend both to mask the taste of some lower end arabica but also to give it a unique character that folks can't quite place but many really like? I'm not a fan of their house blend but here in the Northeast it's very popular and often a good alternative. I'd be most grateful if the HeadGeek could verify this whilst so close to the DD Bigwigs.“

„Unwashed Arabicas are produced by the dry method. Countries producing Arabica coffee are grouped in one of the three groups of Arabica‑producing countries established under the Agreement, namely Colombian Mild Arabicas, Brazilian Natural Arabicas, and Other Mild Arabicas, according to the type of Arabica coffee they produce.“
