„I ask the guy where the grinders are and he looks at me with the “what grinders?” look, and I realize he’s clueless about this detail. In addition, after scoping out their brewing equipment, (all 10 gallon urns), and the waitstaff, (some of whom spoke English), I realize that the chance of brewing the coffee correctly and at the right time is pretty remote. So I shift gears and decide to do a “cupping.” The new plan is that each person would have six cups of ground coffee in front of them, and then the servers would just have to pour hot water into each cup. Shouldn’t be too difficult.“

„There's a lot of good grinders on the market today that do the job they are assigned - providing an even grind at various levels of fineness needed for a specific brewing job. The key is only burr grinders will do, and some burr grinders aren't as good as others.“

The little electric blade grinders so common now in North-American homes, used with care, will produce a grind sufficiently fine and uniform to produce decent, albeit thin-bodied, espresso on simple brewing devices that work by steam pressure only. However, larger pump or piston machines require a much more precise grind to operate to their full potential.“

„They conducted a live demonstration, wherein they displayed all the age-old and traditional coffee brewing filters, roasters and grinders that had been and could be further used to make coffee. They stressed on the usage of pure coffee without the addition of chicory, as chicory alters the taste and dilutes the experience of pure coffee. Handy tips about roasting the beans, along with different arabica - robusta blends were also given. The demonstration was well appreciated and the day ended with queries from the audience being answered by the WCPC members.“
