Tea & Coffee 08/01 - 10 Easy ways to Sweeten Sales with Syrups (#)
„Stage a run-off and see who “wins” at the end of the week, based on drink orders.” Gina Palandri, who does training and sales for B&W Specialty Coffee, a distributor of Stirling Gourmet Flavors, says one of her customers came up with a great promotion around Easter. The beverage, with the catchy name “Peeps,” used Stirling’s Toasted Marshmallow and Ceylon Cinnamon syrups to create a hot-selling seasonal latte. To make it even easier, Palandri says they premixed the correct portions of the necessary syrups into empty syrup bottles so they were ready to go.“

„If you are already producing a great tasting product in a restaurant or Deli and making a living, you probably are wise to concentrate on expanding your retail business. „Although specialty coffee is not expected to the staple beverage of coffee consumers, growth in the US market over the coming years will be driven by this thriving sector, in particular gourmet and single origin / estate coffee segment. Niche segments, which will continue to show strong growth, include cappuccino (instant, flavoured & iced), espresso, flavoured ground and ready to drink segments. In R&G market regular coffee will continue to lose share to the specialty/gourmet sector. The whole bean coffees are expected to increase their share.“
