„It's my understanding that La Marzocco is now offering a "superstar" version of the FB70 that has PID and also preheating for the brew boiler. When I visisted ESI in July for training they mentioned that they were working with Schomer on such a project but didn't mention availability or release date. I read here on on some other forum that they're now makign these machines available on request“

„It has dual boilers like La Marzocco's and also features a preheat for the brew boiler water and a PID for extremely stable temp control. LM is now featuring a similar preheat and PIFD upgrade option on new FB70's but the Trueh type machine is way cheaper and appears to be well built.“

„If you've only been drinking Toddy coffee you're limiting yourself. Each brewing process creates a different result, just as each coffee has its own unique characteristics. I suspect that your dinner guests rave about it because they've not had properly prepared and served coffee, so they don't know any better. Toddy coffee does produce a consistent, easy to consume product.“

„Permanent filters allow the flavor molecules to pass through without adding unwanted flavors (assuming you clean the filters after each brew). We're less enthusiastic about paper filters, because paper filters leave a papery taste in the coffee. If you do use paper filters, rinse them with warm water before brewing, to rinse out some of the impurities and extra paper flavor.“

„max the brew temp, stick to the cleaning schedule, teach everyone how to use and clean it, and it can be a major benefit at work. i tried getting one at my work, but they're so cheap they were offended i didn't like the heinous boyds-repackaged folgers 'gourmet' coffee everyone seems to chug as if it's good. i think supers are a lot more appropriate in a work enviroment, being more self-contained and if the beans are fresh, the coffee should be better. the saeco was good enough that i've wished MANY times for one on the super busy/cranky baby/got-up-late days.“

„You don't necessarily need espresso cups if you're making lattes but I like to use them to brew the coffee into so I can easily see that I haven't brewed too much espresso from one pod.“
