„Some people claim automatic drip coffee provides "off-tasting" flavors in the cup. To those I suggest you either clean your coffee maker and carafe (refer to manufacturer's instructions), use a better quality coffee, use paper filters (no reusable cloth filters since they are difficult to keep clean), or try a gold filter (cleaned well after each use, please).“

Some modern drip makers have built in filters which actually will trap a great deal of these minerals in the filter before brewing. To avoid doing this at all , you can use distilled water only for your coffee. Most people won't go to such extremes though.“

„I got my Stay-or-Go coffee maker last weekend and it's done well the first week. The coffee tastes about the same as my old drip coffee maker made, and I haven't had a problem with the coffee going cold. When I cleaned the coffee pot before making the first brew I noticed some Styrofoam particles when I poured out the rinse water.
