CoffeeGeek - Solis Maestro Review - Construction and Quality
(#)
„At the higher end of the grind, there is enough variance between the grind particles to be noticeable, at least under scrutinized viewing, but also by touch. By comparison the grind from a commercial Rossi RR45 grinder produced an extremely even and consistent grind with almost all the particles looking to be the same size under magnification. The Rossi’s grind was also more smooth to the touch when compared to the Maestro. Middle and high end grind quality will be covered a bit later on in this Review, but for now, let's discuss espresso grind.“http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/solismaestro/ detailedpt1 - Cached
CoffeeGeek - Mazzer Mini - Comparisons

„(boy, am I cruel or what). Actually, we picked several very capable grinders, including the Rossi RR45 commercial burr grinder ($500), the Innova flat burr doser grinder (around $250), the Rancilio Rocky flat burr grinder (around $230), and the venerable Solis Maestro grinder. Not all grinders were tested at the same time. I enlisted the aid of over a dozen people in several different sessions to help me with these various stages of evaluation.“http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/mazzermini/ comparisons - Cached
CoffeeGeek - Mazzer Mini - Long Term Comments
(#)
„With almost every other grinder I've tested (including the bulky commercial Rossi RR45 grinder), there always seems to be a case of "make do' with what I'm using. This was simply not the case with the Mazzer. One might think that since it is pretty much exclusively for espresso grinding, that would be a case of "make do" in terms of grinding for drip coffee or vac pot coffee but I don't look at it that way at all.“http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/mazzermini/ longterm - Cached
CoffeeGeek - Mazzer Mini - Early Impressions
(#)
„Initially I thought the clear portion of the doser chamber was glass - after taking it apart as the months went along in this review, I discovered it is high impact plastic. Even 8 months later, it shows no scratches or cloudiness or other similar marring - my Rossi RR45 grinder does not share this - the clear plastic in that grinder's doser does show aging, yellowing, scratches and stains that won't come off.“http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/mazzermini/ firstuse - Cached
CoffeeGeek - Innova Grinder - Comparisons with Other Grinders
(#)
„What would a CoffeeGeek Detailed review be without a little side by side comparison with some of the subjects' competitors? We stacked the Innova grinders up against a Rossi RR45 (retail around $500), a Mazzer Mini (retail around $400 to $600), a Rancilio Rocky (retail around $220), and a Solis Maestro grinder (retail around $130). We will break the comparisons down into categories.“http://www.coffeegeek.com/proreviews/detailed/innovagrinder/ comparisons - Cached
