[Kitchen Parade] Kitchen Parade: Refried Bean Sauce with Eggs on Top: It’s a translation error, ”˜rijoles refritos’ became refried beans instead of well-fried beans. Language aside, in this easy egg dish, I love how the puréed beans and tomatoes thicken into a mixture reminiscent of refried beans, just without all the fat and unnecessary calories!

[Journey of Becoming] Mexican Bean Pie « Journey of Becoming: Oil a 9-inch pie plate.  Press dough evenly on bottoms and sides, pinching a finished edge around top.  If time allows, chill before filling.  Sprinkle 1/3 of the pumpkin seeds on bottom of pie shell.  Spread 1/3 of the beans over seeds and 1 to 2 tablespoons salsa on top of bean layer.

[Agriculture Society] Nachos with Chorizo, Refried Beans, and Raw Cheese | Agriculture ...: I couldn’t help myself…I’d been craving chorizo all day and when I got to the store tonight, I was on a mission to find some good, local fare. I scored a nice package of it from the butcher counter and kept thinking of the frozen lamb and chicken I had at home, which was going to have to wait for another night since it wouldn’t be thawed out in time for dinner (I was thinking Paella).

[3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss Community] Sigh....I still hate beans. - 3 Fat Chicks on a Diet Weight Loss ...: Refried beans (I like the recipe from Mexican Light, by Martha Rose Shulman which I got from the library, but I add a ton of herbs like sage and oregano), the more you cook them, the less of that bean texture remains. We like them in enchiladas rather than a side dish -- for me, that's another way to make beans "disappear"

[The Saved Quarter] Scratch vs. Store Bought: Brownies « The Saved Quarter: Although it costs more, I’m calling it for the box mix, with comparison to this brownie recipe. I will still be searching for a tastier, chewier home made version, because of that 45% difference in cost and the added ingredients that I don’t want to feed my family, but for this comparison, Pillsbury beats the home made recipe.

[Christie's Corner] Slow Cooker Refried Beans Dip: Think I will use dry beans to start. They are so easy and so much tastier than canned and better on the earth too.

[Reluctant Entertainer] Bush's Beans: In the Kitchen!: My favorite is tomato braised cannellini beans-so easy and yet so yummy. You just saute garlic in olive oil with a little bit of thyme, add in a can of petite diced tomatoes, cook until the liquids are almost gone then add one drained and rinsed can of cannellini (white) beans.

[Herbivoracious] Scrambled Eggs With Epazote And Poblanos - Herbivoracious ...: But throw a handful into slowly cooked black or refried pinto beans, and you get an inexplicable, almost meaty flavor. People will tell you they are the best beans they have ever tasted, but they won't be able to say why.

[LAP-BAND Surgery and LAP-BAND Discussion Forum] How do you make Refried Beans? - LAP-BAND® Surgery and LAP-BAND ...: MMmmmm they are so good that way and you also get all kinds of nutrients from the extra stuff put in them but if you just want plain refried beans and want them fast just get the cans of refried beans and add some seasonings in them or buy the pre seasoned ones and they taste good like that too. I still think the best way is to buy dry pinto beans and fast boil them which is put them into a pot and boil them for about 15-30 minutes but make sure you STIR them frequently then after that throw them in a crock pot and let em slow cook until nice an tender which is usually quite a few hours or if you have the time all day.
