„The coffee grounds will swell during the steeping time. After the appropriate amount of steeping, gently press the French Press plunger down. The mesh filter will push the coffee grounds to the bottom and separate the liquid from the coffee grounds.“

„You allow this to steep for four minutes then gently press the plunger downward. If you have to press hard then you ground the coffee too fine or your grinder creates too much coffee dust. The plunger pushes the strainer to the bottom of the pot, straining out all the grounds and leaving a wonderfully delicious and rich pot of coffee. The strainer is a fine-mesh metal screen so there areno paper filters to replace or to taint the taste of the coffee.“

„Coarsely ground coffee is placed in the glass carafe, then water at the desired temperature is poured over the grounds and the top is placed on. When brewing is complete, the plunger (a mesh filter on a stick) is pressed down, pressing the grounds to the bottom and leaving the coffee liquor on top to be poured off. The filter is not as tight as a paper filter and because of the larger pores, a coarser grind is required so the grounds are filtered out, and the plunger does not become almost impossible to press down. The mesh of the filter allows the coffee oils and all those delicious dissolved and undissolved solids through without a problem.“
