Peet's Coffee & Tea | Peet's Selectivity (#)
„We select single-origin teas from regions where the soil, weather, and altitude are ideal for tea growing. We select teas from producers who are skilled and quality-conscious, and who practice traditional methods for processing the freshly picked leaf into finished tea. We place our primary emphasis on the wide range of flavors manifest in the leaf of the true tea bush (camellia sinensis), and we present the majority of our teas without additional flavoring.“

„I love every coffee I have ever tried at Peets but my favorite is Major Dickason's blend! Although I am currently away from my hometown of Pasadena (I miss Peets on South Lake dearly!) I treat myself to Peets via mail order. I wish there was a Peets in Ann Arbor.“

„I came across your site while savoring my favorite Peets coffee: Sumatra and I thought I'd tell you how much I enjoy this blend. It may sound crazy but as a New Yorker your coffee is a perfect match. It is strong but if you linger it has gentle depth, it can be aggressive and yet has a soothing warmth, it has many layers and hidden tastes yet has its own unique individuality.“

„It is 100% traditional Bourbon arabica cultivar, and is exclusively sun-dried on patios. It comes from an altitude of 4900 f eet, the San Francisco farm owned by Juan Francisco Rodríguez, 4th generation of a coffee growing family. Sr. Rodriguez was a founding member of the wet-mill co-op, along with 27 other small farms, called the Cuzcachapa cooperative.“

„peets was in serious financial need when the founders of starbucks (who learned from peet himself how to roast in the first place-and bought their beans before they started roasting theeir own beans) bought him out in the 80s. when starbucks got bought by schultz the founders took peets with them when they left. the founders gave schultz $100k in seed money and became their first investor for the starbucks you know today. technically starbucks success paid for peets expansion in the form of starbucks stock.“
