„It is a commercial sized basket and uses commercial size BUNN filters. The sad coffee makers that you buy in TheBay, COSTCO, SUPERSTORE, K-Mart, WalMart etc etc etc that use #2 filters (and some that use #4 filters) are laughable in their inability to make a hot cup of coffee, properly extracted over the right amount of time and temperature. Oh yea.. 40-ounces in about 4-Mugs....“

„This will probably be the last column I’ll do before the end of November this year. I’m off to HOST 2003 in Milan in mid-November, the humongous Italian trade show where EVERY Italian espresso machine manufacturer is represented, especially the domestic ones. It won’t be much fun (fly 2 days, show 2 days, fly back 2 days) but it will give me the opportunity to preview the best gear coming out of Italy in 2004!“

„Little information is known regarding caffeine's effect on the substrate supporting sustained ventricular arrhythmias. This prospective study evaluated the effect of coffee (275 mg of caffeine) on this substrate with programmed ventricular stimulation in 22 patients with a history of symptomatic nonsustained ventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, or ventricular fibrillation. Patients underwent electrophysiological testing before and 1 hour after coffee ingestion. Mean (+/- SEM) plasma caffeine level achieved after coffee consumption was 6.2 +/- 0.5 mg/L.“
