  „Arabica odlas på högre höjd och är känsligare för låga temperaturer och för mycket regn än Robusta, se tabell här intill. Arabica har två st huvudvarianter, arabica eller typica som härstammar från den planta som sjökapten De Clieu ¹ tog med sig till Västindien och variant bourbon som fransmännen tog med sig från Aden till ön Bourbon (numera Reunion Island).Robusta ger ett mer bittert kaffe än Arabica men ger i gengäld ett kraftigare kaffe med "mer kropp". Arabica är mer aromatiskt och ofta brukar kaffesorterna blandas för att få en mustig och smakfull brygd.Ca 2/3 av världsproduktionen av kaffe består av Arabica.  KaffeskördningKaffebären plockas på två olika sätt. Handplockning är det första sättet och används mest på de platser där man har blomningar i omgångar p g a att det regnar mycket.“
