There are various fanciful but unlikely stories surrounding the discovery of the properties of roasted coffee beans. One story has it that an Ethiopian goatherd was amazed at the lively behaviour of his goats after chewing red coffee berries. What we know with more certainty is that the succulent outer cherry flesh was eaten by slaves taken from present day Sudan into Yemen and Arabia, through the great port of its day, Mocha, now synonymous with coffee.“

There is no real evidence to show exactly when, or how, it was first discovered that a rich and stimulating brew could be made from the bean (or seed) within the fruit of the coffee bush, but it is thought that before coffee was ever appreciated as a beverage, native people may have chewed the ripe cherries and beans as food. There is evidence to suggest that coffee trees were cultivated in monastery gardens 1,000 years ago, and commercial cultivation followed, although the first reports of this, from the Yemen, were not recorded until the fifteenth century.“

„Rimini is easily accessible by car and train and is within 5 to 6 hours driving from most major cities in Italy and the surrounding mainland countries. The Fair itself is adjacent to a major Autostrada and the new station allows train travellers direct access to the Rimini Trade Fair site. For those travelling from further away, the nearest airport is Forli which has daily flights by RyanAir from the UK and Germany. If you book early enough the airfares will be VERY favourable. Connections between Forli and Rimini are reasonable but may involve a short wait. A little further away, but still within easy access, is Bologna airport which several airlines fly to, including EasyJet, which also has very favourable prices, if booked early enough. There are good train and bus connections from Bologna airport to Rimini.“

Vac Pot Brewing with the Yama Syphon (INeedCoffee.com)
„While I haven't personally used other stovetop vacuum brewers, I have heard mostly horror stories of plugged filters, slow/incomplete brewing, bad seals etc. The Yama Syphon brewer has shown none of these symptoms for me. I have also found this to be extremely easy to use and cleanup. Of course, usability is worth nothing if the result tastes horrible.“
