  „Between 90-97 the value consumption in regular instant expanded by 38%, the sale of decaf instant declined by 6%. The total decaffeinated market of US comprising both decaf ground and decaf instant is estimated at US$ 1.2 billion of the total retail value of all coffees. Of this, decaffeinated ground coffees account for 72% while the decaffeinated instant coffee the rest of 18%. Studies on decaffeinated segment in US by Swiss Water have brought out some interesting conclusions about the potential and constraints this segment (see Box.1).“
