„Green Label from Brooke Bond, one of the oldest filter coffee-chicory brands in the market, has acquired a more aromatic blend. The Chennai-based Fresh & Honest Café group has introduced brick packs of filter coffee with special blends for the Tamil Nadu market. Diacafe, a sweet instant coffee without sugar, has been launched by Cormic Health Care to cater to the calorie conscious and those with diabetes. And independent cafes are sprouting like mushrooms in cities and towns across the country...“

„We may not have the luxury of having eight cups of coffee, given the state of our physique and the worrying nature of our minds. And yet, even the generation reared on "one black coffee" still realizes that there is no greater pleasure than the perfectly made first cup of coffee. Everyone talks about getting up on the right side of the bed as the perfect start to the day, but to me, it has been and will always be the perfectly brewed cup of coffee, which sets the tone for the day.“

„Small quantities of coffee can also be roasted on top of a stove or in an oven at 400° F. Home roasted coffee is more aromatic than that bought at the store, and its freshness definitely compensates for any small failings in the roasting procedure.“

„Our endeavor is to fuse the power of science with the wisdom of what you and the market requires. We have a long way to go, but are working hard to overcome the various odds that we face…the problems of a tropical climate which endangers our coffee plants by attacks of pests and diseases; the steep and sometimes inaccessible terrain of our coffee growing areas; the economic levels of the majority of our small farmers…by concentrating on producing our coffees in a sustainable environment, improving our plant materials, upgrading our cultivation and processing technology, reducing our cost of production without affecting quality, developing innovative methods of processing, providing specific usage information for our coffees and promoting estate branded, special and speciality coffees. The road is long, tenuous and tedious with the added drawback of depressed prices, but with the guidance, support, and encouragement of coffee consumers around the world and hopefully good prices, we would be like the twinkling stars in a blue sky, shining and reminding you of the delicious and varied tastes of our Indian coffees. India and her coffees beckon you.“

„Demand for themed coffees as organic and Fair Trade also began to grow. Emergence of Seattle's new drink Café Latte' and expansion of Starbucks espresso bar and proliferation of retail chains and out of home food service outlets saw a hyper growth. From mid 1990s the proliferation of coffee bars throughout the US has been phenomenal - practically one in every street corner. In the market for estate coffees, the focus of roasters and consumers has sharpened moving from origins to regional selection and even to varieties.“

„Jamaican Blue Mountain - Very aromatic and very strong coffee. My friend said she could actually smell the bitterness in the coffee :-). Well, after a lot of sugar, it did taste good - has a slight tinge of sour lemon in it.“
