Home Espresso FAQ (#)
„ Paper Filtered, Cone drip brewed coffee (18.5 grams of Arabica coffee, about 16 fluid ozs) 340 milligrams of caffeine Those are interesting numbers but I don't know anyone who makes a 16 oz pot using only 18.5 grams of ground coffee. Seems to me so little coffee would produce 6 to 8 ounces of brew worth drinking. Espresso is the concentrated essence of superb coffees. The brewing process is designed specifically to get the best out of the coffee and to leave all the bad stuff behind.“

„Instant coffees tend to be lower in caffeine, ranging from 40 to 110 mg per 5 ounces. Brewed teas have from 20 to 110 milligrams. In coffee, the caffeine content depends both on the type of bean and on the roasting and brewing process. Beans harvested from the "robusta" species are typically found in common name brands like Folgers and Maxwell House.“

„For people who are sensitive to caffeine, even 10 milligrams can cause discomfort. That is why nearly all decaffeinated coffees contain less than 10 milligrams of caffeine (typically two to five milligrams) per serving. Today decaffeinated coffee accounts for approximately 12 percent of total worldwide coffee consumption, or nearly 1 billion pounds per year.“
