Gaggia Home Espresso Equipment - Gaggia Espresso, Gaggia New Coffee, Gaggia Classic, Gaggia Baby (#)
„The Classic features the 3-way solenoid valve which leaves behind a dry espresso puck after each use, a nice feature for cleanup. That also means you can backflush the machine for cleaning (see note by valve picture about safety), and that excess pressure will be automatically released after each espresso. It has a larger 72 ounce water reservoir. which means less trips for refilling.“

„This machine is essentially a Gaggia Classic (see midrange, below) without some of the premium stuff like the 3 way solenoid valve pressure release and better connections. This machine is a great chose for medium volume use in the home.“

„Best Value is kind of obvious - the Gaggia Carezza (again supplied by EspressoPeople ) is about 90% "Gaggia Classic" inside (save the metal body and 3 way solenoid valve) but at nearly half the price. Nice beginner machine that gives you a commercial sized portafilter and basket.“

„Gaggia makes excellent machines but their price puts them out of most people's range. But if you're looking for quality, the Classic is top of the line.“

„But it was still lacking in the espresso area - being a "steam toy" it could not produce good shots of espresso. I was living in Kitsilano at the time, and I was lucky that there were plenty of great cafes in the neighbourhood, many of which could pull a decent shot. So while its espresso production was a joke (it was a "steam toy, after all) I kept the Delonghi Trieste for two years.“
