„John Noel (D-Atlanta) and four congressional co-sponsors filed a bill recently that would make it a misdemeanor “of high and aggravated nature” not to offer sweet tea in any Georgia restaurant that serves iced tea, according to The Associated Press. Should the bill pass, failure to comply and serve this traditional southern drink, which is brewed with generous amounts of sugar, could carry a sentence of up to 12 months in jail. Noel got the idea for the bill when he wasn’t able to order sweet tea at a restaurant in Chicago. Later, he couldn’t order sweet tea at the Blue Ridge Grill in Atlanta.“
