„The five goals to achieve Fairtrade Town status are 1: Local council to pass a resolution supporting Fairtrade, and agree to serve Fairtrade coffee and tea at its meetings and in its offices and canteens 2: A range of Fairtrade products is readily available in the area’s shops; Fairtrade products are served in local cafés/catering establishments 3: Fairtrade products are used by a number of local work places (estate agents, hairdressers etc) and community organisations (churches, schools etc) 4: Devise a plan to attract popular support for the campaign 5: A local Fairtrade steering group is convened to ensure continued commitment to its Fairtrade Town status.“

„A selection of exclusive organic teas from the Hampstead Tea and Coffee Company are the latest products to receive the Fairtrade Mark. They range from a First Flush and Oolong to the strong Wildwood tea bags, and a Darjeeling which won its category in the Soil Association's Organic Food Awards. Green & Black's Fairtrade milk chocolate was also highly commended in the Awards. „Sainsbury’s own label Fairtrade Tea won a quality award at the Quality Food and Drink Awards. Further validation of Fairtrade growers’ work to improve the quality of their coffee was achieved when three Fairtrade registered producer groups made it to the final ten of the first Bolivian ‘Coffee Cupping’ competition. The Multiple Retailer of the Year ward went to the Co-op, partly due to their Fairtrade range. Terry Hudghton, Co-op marketing manager, said ‘Fairtrade was highlighted as something that caught the judges’ eye, and will inevitably catch the eye of other retailers and manufacturers as a result.’“
