„Following the tremendous success of Fairtrade bananas, we are working with a number of supermarkets and fresh produce importers to extend the FAIRTRADE Mark to many more tropical and exotic fruits. In addition to pineapples and mangoes (trialled by the Co-op in early 2002), we are talking to producers of citrus fruits, grapes, passion fruit, papaya and coconuts who are keen to participate in Fairtrade. We expect this work to ‘bear fruit’ during 2003.“

„Launching the Café Revive Fairtrade blend across 198 outlets in September 2004, David Gregory, Head of Food Technology at Marks & Spencer, said: ”In the same way that we changed to using only free-range eggs in all our products, we are switching to Fairtrade coffee in response to demand from our customers. All coffee sold in our chain of Café Revives will be certified by the Fairtrade Foundation. Its unique quality will remain the same.” One of the aims of the Fairtrade oundation’s three-year push is to emphasise that switching to Fairtrade does not mean any concession on quality.“
