„I have written a letter to the editor that was published, and we did have a good discussion within our peace coalition about fair trade so there is some growing awareness. I have been encouraging people to ask for fair trade at stores and coffe shops and our local supermarket did recently start carrying fair trade coffee. I have also sent letter to every coffee shop owner and super market manager in the Roaring Fork Valley, explaining what fair trade is and where the can contact suppliers here in Colorado. I also provided information and supplier contact info to a coffee shop that has just opened up in Colorado Springs.“

„This past semester we spent time each week educating our group on what fair trade is and we sold some fair trade crafts and coffee from El Salvador before Christmas. We are encouraging students to fill out comment cards at local cafes, on campus and grocery stores asking for fair trade coffee options. I attend and work with CHANGE, the student organization and we are working on this campaign specifically on campus, which is taking a long time to get going. These are my activities locally.“

„Someone else has recieved your coffee campaign packet as well from that group. We are starting off our fair trade campaign with local coffee places and talking to the owners about having an option for customers to buy fair trade coffe. We are not yet sure how to approach the campus auxillary services though. If you can give us advice and get us moving, that would be great!“

„They are Cafe Origin, which is owned by Kraft, which is owned by Philip-Morris. They have actually run a short piece on Fair Trade in their internal newsletter, thanks to one student, and they have said they'll serve Fair Trade coffee for a taste-test, or allow us to serve it near their shops. They're afraid of losing the UConn contract, by which they run about 5 coffee houses on campus.“
