JA Henckels Cottage Stainless-Steel Espresso Spoons, Set of 8
[Little Home Blogs] A great addition to any stainless-steel flatware collection, the 18/10 stainless-steel Cottage espresso spoon is perfect for stirring sugar into a freshly pulled shot. The piece's oval bowl is substantial enough to be practical while the overall design preserves the petite charm of the demitasse spoon.

DeLonghi BCO120T Combination Coffee/Espresso Machine

[Coffee Blog] I dropped the plastic water tank from about 2 feet off the ground and it cracked, making it useless, I was suprised how soft plastic could break so easily, and as of yet I am unable to find a replacement, and Delonghi wont respond to my emails. this unit is cheaply made, and not worth the 100 bucks I spent on it

Introducing small/medium espresso Sabrina!!
[The Purse Forum - Coach] The bottom strap thing confused me for a minute, but then I attached it to the proper place, and it can be worn over the shoulder as well. I still prefer it as a satchel, but will keep the strap on just in case I need to be hands free quickly.

Espresso Glasses
[Petunia Bloom] Yesterday I was still bummed about breaking my espresso shot glasses. Ryan wanted me to run to Starbucks and get him a little afternoon treat. I went to the location on Memorial and 71st. When I went through the drive-through I ordered and then asked if they sold espresso shot glasses. The employee said they would check. When I pulled up to the window, a man peeked his head out holding an espresso shot glass that they use in the store and claimed they didn’t sell any retail but they would sell me some the use in their store. I asked how much, and he said $1 per glass. OMG–First of all, that was the type of glass I wanted in the first place; Second of all, if you are to buy espresso shot glasses anywhere else for retail you are likely to pay around $10. I was so excited!! That is what I should have done in the first place- try to buy them from Starbucks. FYI if you make espresso at home!

Introduction to lipids in coffee
[http://jimseven.com] In this post I am going to look at coffee oils in both green and roasted coffee, but before I talk just about coffee I want to cover the different types of lipids in coffee and give some explanation of what they are. Lipids is a term used to cover a range of hydro-carbon organic compounds with certain characteristics - they are soluble in non-polar solvents, and hence not soluble in water.

Your first ever cup of coffee
[http://jimseven.com] This isn’t to say that we don’t appreciate a better cup. Those exposed to good coffee are often mildly shocked at how good it tastes, how sweet or how complex and incredible. The educated consumer remains in the minority which in many ways is a frustration. We have a population happily knocking back cup after cup of filthy coffee and what really boggles the mind is that they know it doesn’t taste good. They almost seem to expect it, a cup of coffee both a jump start in the morning and a mini-ordeal.

SCAE European Team Challenge - Dublin 2006 report
[http://jimseven.com] it was time for the Team Entertainment presentation. You had to fill 5 minutes and be entertaining and it was worth as many points as any other event. We went last (which was great cos everyone was really, really drunk by then) and performed the “World’s Crappest Irish Joke”. The credit for this one goes to Simon (for the joke and the onstage narration) and to Lou for her awesome set and prop design (oh yes people - no expense spared). Somehow we got second place, with the Russian’s comical performance of Swan Lake taking first. My favourite was the Estonians surreal interpretation of “My hat it has three corners”. Very, very funny! Like many of the nights it ended pretty late, but was incredibly good fun and hanging out with all the baristas was great.

Getting stuck into some reading
[http://jimseven.com] It is very easy to collect books on coffee for their own sake, and I am as guilty as the next man. I’ve got lots of them (well - not hundreds or anything) that aren’t much good for reference as I have all the source texts. Interesting to see how badly written many of them are, some barely above casual plagiarism. I think I’ve probably posted before on the number of coffee books that anyone with a copy of Davids and Ukers could knock up in half a day. Books published as a reaction to a percieved spike in the public’s interest in coffee. Not useful books - but when you see them on ebay for 99p you can’t help but bid!

Caffé Zingaro
[cookbook 411: Recipes, Restaurant Reviews, Food Photography and more] Were trying to be good and take public transportation, and its not quite enough time for me to take the bus home again after dropping her off. My Favourite Perth Cafés
[Abstract Gourmet] Just a quick list of cafés in Perth that I think do great coffee, and/or have really nice food or atmosphere. The list is short, but mainly because since getting my own espresso machine, I don’t feel the need to go out as often to drink bad coffee, when I can make equally bad coffee at home (or much much better ).

The Art of Espresso
[Coffee Sage -A Coffee Blog coffee graphics, coffee blinkies, blog graphics, drink recipe] If it were easy we would develop a machine that can brew a perfect espresso every time. We need to look at the many factors involved in espresso preparation that only a human mind and a passionate heart can begin to understand and control its complexity.

Joe - Great Coffee, Mediocre Experience
[The Coffeehouse Soapbox] In the times that I've been back, the quality has consistently remained high, which is one of the marks of a good coffeehouse. One of the secrets to Joe's high coffee quality is the fact that their owner Jonathan trains with David Schomer, the Seattle owner of Espresso Vivace, arguably the best coffee in the country.

An Israeli-style espresso bar?
[Brewed Fresh Daily] Espresso bars like Sicaffe, and the many other high-quality establishments that mushroomed across Israel in the late 1990s are the main reason why Starbucks failed so resoundingly when the chain entered the local market in 2003. The homegrown Israeli chains had gotten a generation of Israeli yuppies expecting high-quality Italian coffee and fresh baked goods - and Starbuck’s offerings simply didn’t measure up.

Perfect espresso shots with Rancilio Silvia
[..:: The Story of David Kaspar ::..] This will trigger Silvia to start creating steam pressure while your espresso is running through. I have noticed that by turning on the steam button 10-30 seconds before starting an espresso run, extra pressure will be built up and the water will penetrate the coffee puck better.

Monday macchiato nosso good
[My Very Own Glob {Curiosa Felicitas}] Then there were the staff of the Haagen Dazs cafe who said they couldn’t serve me a double shot macchiato because it wasn’t on the menu, even if a single macchiato was. Even after I explained that a double macchiato was like a double espresso, only you put a small spot of foamed milk to mark the espresso, making it a macchiato, because a macchiato in Italian means ‘spotted’.
