Espresso! My Espresso! An Ongoing Internet Novel - CHAPTER (#)
„The first thing to catch my eye was the steam wand. I then honed in on the machine and saw it was one of those steam driven toys- easily spotted by the large, screw-on cap on top of the machine. It also had a coffee maker built in. I kept thinking that here are some folks who could buy a machine for wallet-cash that would cost more then most of our cars are worth (ALL of my cars together, actually), and if necessary they could have a crew come in to remodel a part of the kitchen so that this thing would have a little home of its own, decorated in early "Italian Barrista," yet there on their counter they proudly displayed a bottom-line espresso machine.“

„Making eggspresso only requires a good steam wand. Most home espresso machines have good decent frothing wands with which to cook the eggs. Next, you will need a good container to put the eggs in. Oddly enough, I have found that coffee mugs work very well because you can fit 3 eggs in them and they have enough depth for the wand to reach into.“

„The steam wand ejects steam in order to froth the milk. The steam wand should be cleaned after it is inserted into milk and at the end of each day. Do not allow the steam wands to soak in water overnight since some of the dirty water can be sucked into the boiling tank inside the machine.“

„Make sure you stay away from auto tampers. They may give you consistent pressure, but the tamp is horrible. There is no real way to tap the wand and knock the espresso off the sides, let alone get a nice polished head on the espresso.“

„The major difference is that this model is a true espresso/steam maker for your stovetop. It has a frothing wand, a valve to dispense steam, a pressure release valve and a valve to extract your espresso. Unfortunately, the quality of the espresso is not the best; but, for such a compact, inexpensive device, the froth produced is amazingly light, delicious and long-lasting. The coffee is a heavier extraction, more typical of a European's preference, but not as full-bodied and dense as an espresso.“
