„Two pees and two sees. Here is what you need, go get a pencil : 1/2 to 1 teaspoon of instant decaf coffee, 1 teaspoon of sugar or 1 paquet of Sweet and Low (I love that name!), 1 tablespoon of Hershey's Chocolate Syrup and !/4 cup cup of very hot water. Now, stir all this in a small bowl ( breakfast coffee bowl dans la belle France),and slowly pour 3/4 of a cup of cream (or Half and Half),Take a big cup, put 4 chunks of ice in it and sloooooowly pour the contents of your bowl over the ice....“

„This is crucial for the diet to succeed. If you need a break from tap water (or Evian, for that matter), you can have decaf. Just don't add more than a teaspoon of sugar to your decaf, or better yet use a substitute. Sugars are the one of the *bad* carbo blocks that you need to keep to a minimum.“

Further, delays in custom’s entries, exacerbated by the tragic events of 9/11, have increased the costs of financing and made the costs of “pipeline fill” for roasters vis-a-vis decaf coffee somewhat greater. All of this adds up to more pressure on the decaffeinator than is in the tank of a supercritical carbon dioxide processor, and that’s a lot.“

„When asked to confirm an increased interest in decaffeinated coffee, however, roasters and distributors who supply restaurants on the West Coast were hard pressed to affirm dramatically higher decaf sales. There may be two reasons for this. First, as one West Coast roaster noted, “Restaurants waste so much decaf that they could increase their sales significantly without going through that much coffee.“
