Color Sorting Coffee (#)
„The methodology behind color sorting machines is similar. The color of each bean is quickly measured using a type of CCD camera system and depending on this wavelength measurement the bean is either allowed to flow downward or is shot with a puff of air into the reject pile. For monochromatic machines white and black beans are removed since they have a lighter or darker hue than the average, whereas the more specific bichromatic sorting machines detect and eliminate beans that are white, unripe, broken, insect damaged, and black.“

„The group argues that many small farmers are impoverished by selling their coffee below market price, and large bean growers are more likely to clear cut rain forests to grow coffee beans. The group then sells raw coffee beans to middlemen called roasters in the United States who toast the beans brown. The roasters sell the beans to retail shops.“

„So, the next best way to store coffee is to store in roasted but whole bean form. Grinding your own beans is pretty simple, and will be worth the effort. Roasted whole bean will last 1 to 2 weeks, when stored at room temperature. You should keep it in an airtight container that blocks the light.“

„Kenyan coffee is wet-processed and sold by the size of the bean, with AA signifying the largest beans, followed by A and B. The best Kenyan coffee, called Estate Kenya, can cost twice as much as regular AA's, but is worth the price. The tremendous body, astounding winy acidity and black-current flavor and aroma make Estate Kenya one of the finest coffees in the world.   Tanzania Most Tanzanian coffees are grown near the border of Kenya on the slopes of Mt.“
