„  I considered the Capresso MT500, but there seem to be reliability (heat) problems and $160 is more than the refurb which has probably been tested and repaired and observed by a competent human.   Also the MT500 is a bit ostentatious, while the CoffeeTEC is more understated.  I seriously considered the Krups Moka - but it's too small and probably too fussy for my diurnal needs.   For what I want - a low-maintainance relationship that provides lots of really *HOT* coffee all day long this is a dream.“

„I had considered several other units, but thanks to "dodge1", Keith Beam and others I was made aware that the CoffeeTec was available as a like-new refurb for less than the cost of others in this class.   The MT500 from Capresso was a possible alternative, but there are a few reports of units making too-cool coffee.   Cuisinarts either lack the thermal carafe or include a marginal grinder that I would find useless.“
