CoffeeKid - Vacuum Brewer Hey Day (#)

„One thing I have to make clear is that not all vacuum brewers are alike. I think the coffee from manual, all glass models is definitely better than the coffee from a chrome Sunbeam CoffeeMaster - then again, all of my CoffeeMasters (4 currently) are old and preused, so maybe that's a factor - 40 year old stains that no amount of scrubbing can completely clean out influence the taste... that plus the fact that manual glass vacuum brewers are so manual, you, the drinker, decides when to stop the brewing process might make the difference in taste.“

CoffeeKid - The Vacuum Brewer FAQ (#)

„Another commonly used material (up until the 1950s) was copper covered with chrome. Farberware's robots were built this way (bottom vessel) as were the CoffeeMaster line from Sunbeam and some Corys, along with other models. The advantage of these materials were also their disadvantage - copper is a great material for keeping liquids hot, but in doing so, a copper device can stall the "kickdown" phase of the vac pot brewing cycle. Also, you can't see your brew in action, which is a cause for concern for many.“

CoffeeGeek - Bodum Mini Santos E - Craig Hairrell's Review (#)

„ It's just the right size for my personal morning coffee needs.  I have used a number of vacuum pots -- electric Coffeemasters and Corys, and the manual Harios and Bodum Santos.  This one is hands-down better than any of them.“
