CoffeeKid - Things I love about coffee and espresso (#)
„Starbucks: Yes, Starbucks. For all their corporate crap (see my bad things about coffee, below), Starbucks must be credited for many things - showing the general public there is better coffee out there. Having stellar after sales service for products that most vendors can't (or won't) touch. Actively promoting Fair Trade coffee - they may not sell a heckuva lot of it compared to all the coffee they sell, but the fact that they promote it like crazy is awesome - it educates the public about the Coffee Crisis.“

„How easy is it to keep the machine sanitary and clean? (Espresso can be quite messy, see below, but your machine must be kept absolutely spotless or your coffee will taste like crap and lower life forms will quickly move in and call it home.) What accessories are included in the purchase price? (Not many, these days see below.) Does the steam wand look like it's part of a serious kitchen tool or does it seem like it will fall off or easily break? Will you honestly be able to deal with the monster the first thing in the morning?“

„Moving to Vancouver saw changes, including my appreciation for quality coffee. Besides some early west coast Starbucks experiences, the biggest improvement was the acquisition of a Gaggia Baby espresso machine.“

„Here's the very, very sad news: the best espresso shot we had out of all the shops we hit was... a Starbucks. And it wasn't the Starbucks espresso, pulled on their La Marzocco Linea machine.“
