CoffeeKid - The Rancilio Pages (#)
„Rancilio is an Italian company that produces a line of commercial machines for cafes and restaurants, and also what are, in my opinion, the best home machines you can buy under $500 US dollars. In 1998 and 1999, a buzz started about the Rancilio Silvia, which was brand new to the market. That buzz continued, and this segment of the CoffeeKid site is a bit part of that continuing excitement. I'm glad to be a part of it.“

„Another of six (yes, six) Isomacs I currently have in house. This one is a good leg up competitor on the Rancilio Silvia“

„This is especially true for rare items or items mislabeled, and only found through some good search techniques. In the past I've been burned by this posting behaviour - I once found a Faberware Coffee Robot #505, from the 30s in mint condition, but listed as a Farberware percolator, without any mention of it being a vac pot. I sat on it, and waited to bid until the last day when I figured it might go for as low as $50 or so. Someone (no names, no names) went and posted a "hey, lookit what I found!" post in alt.coffee the day before the auction closed, and guess what - the Robot skyrocketed and closed at over $180.“

„And here's an assortment of other photographs. Some show some of my best poured ristretto shots; others are action shots in cafes and events. Still others are some people I know in the biz. And the last one?“

„Then, I was in Little Italy in Vancouver a few days ago (Commercial drive) and stopped into a little Italian deli and pasta place I like to frequent from time to time. I bought some fresh pasta and sauce and stuff, and while waiting to line up, While waiting, I noticed what looked suspiciously like an Illy art cups collection, hiding behind a whole bunch of mugs, cans of stuff, and assorted "stick it on the top shelf, cuz no one wants to buy it" items.“
