CoffeeKid - Press Pots and Drip Brewers
„Press pots (or French presses) are almost always inexpensive (Bodum Chambords and Harios are expensive) and when they do cost more, you're usually paying the additional dollars for decoration. One slight exception is the Bodum Chambord line, which uses borosilicate glass - it supposedly retains heat better and is more durable.“

„Brewing has challenges - if you don't use the machine frequently, you have temperature issues with the brew head. But you get amazing thermal stability on a well used machine because its a boiler full of brewing water, not just a heat exchanger which can fluctuate.“

„This machine was okay and it certainly looked good. It made some of the best drip coffee I'd had to date, as the brewing temperatures were high, higher than my old Braun Auto Drip machine. But it was still lacking in the espresso area - being a "steam toy" it could not produce good shots of espresso. I was living in Kitsilano at the time, and I was lucky that there were plenty of great cafes in the neighbourhood, many of which could pull a decent shot.“

CoffeeKid - Are Vacuum Brewers Different?
„This dilutes your coffee too much, especially if you are brewing a half pot. One other thing that bothers me about the Cona is the pour spout on the bottom vessel is really narrow - too narrow even for my special vac pot brush, a question mark-curved bristle brush designed specifically for vacpots with narrow necks and wide bellies. If this brush doesn't fit, that Cona's mouth is really narrow.“
