„After working out the abilities of the little Braun grinder I got my partial wish... the french press coffee I made was nearly equal to the stuff I enjoyed so much in Europe. I also figured out pretty quick I could froth milk with the Bodum, so I would make myself big bowls of faux cappuccino. And my drip coffee, produced with a Braun Machine, was amazing.“

„Right now, you're lucky if you get two out of three. Here's my idea of the dream machine in three categories - semi auto espresso, super automatic espresso, and grinder.“

„I find this grinder easy to use, does not grind at a high speed, like my years old Braun, and produces consistent results on anything from expresso to French press--I've not tried Turkish, and there is a minimum of static build up. I do not store any beans in the hopper as it is not air-tight. I usually grind enough for two or three days, store the grindings in an air-tight container, and lightly clean the inside of the grinder (with a 1/2" diameter round brush) after each use--I try to avoid any two-day old grindings mingled with freshly ground beans.“

„While this is true - you can get a grinder for $15, you have to also realise you get what you pay for. Often people will blow $150 or more on a coffee maker, $12, $15 or more per pound of quality coffee, then they get it ground at the shop they bought it from, or use a blade grinder (aka the whirleyblade or weedwacker grinder) to get the grounds needed to brew.“

„But by the 1880s, the Germans, French and Italians are experimenting with using steam pressure to force water to higher than 1 atmosphere (normal air pressure) to get more essence out of finer grind coffee. By 1905, the first commercial success - the Pavoni/Bezerra Ideale Espresso machine. This machine extracted a heavy coffee essence using about 1.5 atmospheres of pressure. Was this the peak?“
