CoffeeKid - Tampers and Coffee! (#)
„fourth - the handles - When I first saw the pictures of these tampers, I thought I'd definitely like the exclamation model better than the Interrogative (question mark?) model. I based this partially on my use of the Reg Barber bulb model tamper, which was too short for my hand. But in use, I definitely like the feel of the bulb-shaped impod tamper better than the straight handle model. This isn't to say the straight sided model is bad - it's great - but the Interrogative model works better in my big mitt, and is probably the best "fitting" tamper I've ever used.“

„I've also been fooling around with some of Espresso Parts new tampers - the Lava Deluxe. Terry sent me 4 of his tampers to give away on the Holiday Gift List on CoffeeGeek, and I couldn't resist using one of them. Bottom Line? If you dig the neon-ish colours used, (and many do), these are very high quality craftsman tools for building espresso.“

„I can leave the phone in my pocket or backpack, and surf the net or answer email, or write something like this rant, er blog. Which is in fact what I'm doing: I'm typing this into CoffeeKid straight from a rather crappy cafe called Bread Garden (good interior, nice people zone, not so good espresso and coffee). The P800 is in my jacket pocket, and I'm online.“

„Reg missed the cutoff date for my 2003 Espresso Tamper Shootout article, but the are of sufficient note that I've added a sidebar to the article, and well, I'm mentioning them here.“

„You probably do not remember my post to you several months ago, but I was not all all positive about this "CoffeeKid" garbage talk about the poor state of affairs in the coffee producing regions. Without getting into the details of my previous post and feelings about this issue I brought up the point, at that time, that messing around with the economics of any produced good entices the emergence of "dictator or tyrant" type individuals bent on the sole venture to control prices in the marketplace. This ruler type mentality is clearly evident with the problems with OPEC and crude oil.“
