Because she does, I get some of the super rare and fleeting peaberry from their yearly crop (this year their peaberry count was less than 20lbs). My precious little dense beans arrived just two days ago, and I haven't had a chance to roast them yet. If they're anything like last year's crop, I'll be in heaven.“

„None of the statistics I have seen suggest that Tanzania produces any more peaberry than does any other coffee region. I would guess that at some early date in the development of specialty coffee the association of Tanzania and peaberry was established, and the combination remained standard in the specialty repertory ever since. Certainly the tradition of offering Tanzanian peaberry rather than some other coffee grade or type from Tanzania was well in place when I researched my first book on coffee in 1975. And, because specialty roasters reserve at most one slot for a Tanzania coffee, I suppose that over the years the peaberry option discouraged roasters from offering other Tanzanias.“

„It seems that SmithFarms' neigbour, a company by the name of Kona Purple Mountain, has some sort of running feud with Cea Smith from SmithFarms. A person (or persons) from Kona Purple discovered the Kona auction *I* put online within hours of me doing so, and first left Cea a scathing letter that criticized her and said something to the effect of "I can't believe anyone would think you were that nice a person", etc etc. Then the next morning I started getting emails from people, saying eBay canceled my auctions. The were cancelled because of a minor technicality that someone wrote a complaint to eBay about - the links to SmithFarm's site.“

Well, she does have a social life, but do you know any other Barista who loves the "game" so much that she'll get up early to open one shop and work her tail off, then go to another shop and work until 11pm and close that shop, all the time loving every aspect of what she does?
