I'll get to visit my fave cafe once again, Zoka's, and also hook up with some of the best folks in the coffee biz: the people at ESI - they are hosting the event in their office and showroom. I'm really looking forward to it.“

„After the Canadian Coffee and Tea Expo was over, Jeanette and I wanted to be the "Sunday Relaxation" crew, so we hosted an outdoor barbeque for a bunch of the industry folks, any pro Baristi that wanted to come by, and consumers who attended the show. „For the initiate, everything is discussed simply and clearly, as if the author is sitting right in front of you chatting over a delicious cup of Seattle's Best Coffee (sorry folks, but Starbuck's just doesn't cut it), but the more clever may find the book a slow and plodding read (this is a thick book, folks). Now, the book's major weaknesses lie in its utter lack of information on selling methods, management techniques (classic, coordinator, or craftsman), structuring employment contracts (especially for independent contractors), scheduling, getting and keeping customers, and operating a global business (my personal interest) from home.“

CoffeeKid - Later On July Musings in Coffee and Espresso
„Why it's training, one person at a time, a core of teenaged boys and girls (girls so far) how to be a Barista! :) Jeanette's studio for her Piano School is next to our house, and her students sometimes wander into the labs in the basement, and are intrigued by the big La Marzocco. So I jump all over that, and give them impromptu lessons. So far, I have four "disciples" and counting.“
