CoffeeGeek - Zassenhaus Manual Mill - Gary Dunaway's Review (#)
„I purchased my Zassenhaus about a year ago as a replacement for my first grinder, a Bodum Antigua. Based on the wealth of information I read at Sweet Maria's, I thought it would be a good moderately priced alternative to the much more expensive espresso grade grinders (e.g. Rancilio Rocky). I was primarily brewing French Press and vac pot at the time, and was not satisfied with the uneven grind the Antigua offered.“

„I do believe this device keeps coffee warmer for longer when compared to the typical bodum. I believe the combination of the thick Pyrex glass and the added stainless steel, which encompasses roughly 1/6th of the entire device, does the job. But like any press pot, they cool down relatively fast.“

„The basic principal is all the same, but Sweet Marias used to carry the Swiss Gold extra fine insert that goes in the Bodum French press's filter assembly. It cuts down on supended solids & less sludge in the cup. There is one other press, the Tirra by Trudeau that doesn't press the grounds to the bottom of the press, but it pulls the grounds up & out. Bob Roseman (brokencup) has one & can fill you in on it, I'm sure!“

„It works great, and paired with a Bodum French Press (1L capacity) I'm off and running with "real" coffee now.“

„I think this is why I go gah-gah over so many Bodum products these days, always snapping up the more unique ones I see up on eBay. I sincerely hope that one of their premier (and frankly, risky) products, the Bodum electric Santos brewer, succeeds in the marketplace. I know Bodum has placed a lot of stake in this brewer, and nothing would please me more than to see it become a full fledged and lasting success, with the kind of longevity that the original Santos brewer has enjoyed. This, tied in with their wide range of press pots and other coffee related devices shows the company is committed to producing superior products that not only promote good coffee, but also the artistry and cultural aspects that go along with it.“

„I was wondering if anybody has found any great FairTrade, Organic or ShadeGrown blends? I've been using Sweet Maria's Italian and Monkey blends but would like to do some good with my purchases if possible? I'd been looking into it for awhile and after seen the last article in here I think it would be (as Martha "Jailbird" Stewart would say) "A good thing"!“
