„Before I poured the beans from my Rocky into the Rossi grinder (the Rocky hopper was full with .75lb worth of fresh roast coffee), I took off the hopper, turned the machine on, and turned the grind selection until the burrs started to whisper touch. Turned it off, cranked it back up 12. Figure hey, this is a commie grinder (short for commercial), so I have more range, right?.“

„You set the desired grind by moving the entire hopper assembly with a firm grip of the hand. Move it with the machine running and NO coffee beans in the hopper to avoid damaging the innards. Solis is quite specific about this procedure of not turning the hopper with beans inside. Although the instructions tell you not to run the grinder without beans "in-the-bin," you really need the motor turning when moving to the "espresso-position;" it's way over to the left, as we'll see later.“

„Does anyone know if you can grind the coffee beans with a vitamix Blender. Don't have a grinder but do have a vitamix. Thought I would try ordering some whole beans if this vitamix would do the job.“

This makes it easier to reduce grind times and with additional speed, can reduce whole beans to powder in less than a minute (I've had a Black n' Decker that couldn't grind beans for Turkish coffee if you held the button for half an hour). ** the housing is oval and the lid is flat. I'm not an engineer or physicist, but I think the flat lid and oval shape allow the beans to fall back towards the blades for further grinding (again, my Black n' Decker allowed the beans to spin around the lid in a whirlpool pattern that was pretty to look at, but pointless for actually reducing the grounds to the small particles I wanted).“
