CoffeeGeek - Saeco Classico - Scott Griswold's Review (#)
„ I would recommend this machine without hesitation, I was making very good tasting expresso drinks within the first couple tries. I had never used an expresso machine so I had to learn how much milk to add, how to get lots of foam and just the basic steps to follow. I am using an expresso blend called Valos which is sold in Borders bookstores in their coffee shop, the expresso I make tastes as good as the expresso their commercial machine makes using the same coffee. My only concern was that I found the steam wand to be a bit short, I wish it extend outward more from the unit with a longer wand, but even with this shortcoming the machine produces tons of steam which has given me more than enough steam.“

„In the meantime I am using a little Mr. Coffee expresso unit that has more than paid for itself. I do intend to get another machine but have not decided which one. I will continue to read the reviews here and ultimately pick one.“

„ I'm not sure I would appreciate that much heat in the kitchen. The Rancillio seemed to radiate less heat (which is a BIG plus), but once warmed up it feels quite hot. I have never wished for more heat, or a hotter cup. Once dispensed, the expresso is plenty warm.“

„The instruction manual provided is useless. I found that this is a fully manual machine so that you have to turn on and turn off the pump switch so as to control the time of expresso running out from the machine. I need to control the tamping and the grinding together in order to make a perfect 25s run. It takes me few weeks to master the techique...“

„ I ignored this part of the manual because when you turn the machine on to brew the coffee, the hot plate is also turned on to a lower setting. There is an optional switch that may also be turned on once the machine is brewing that heats the hot plate up to full capacity. I was originally contemplating the thermal carafe model of the Clubline but was led to this model by Cheryl at Boyd's. She mentioned that the thermal carafe with the Clubline isn't anywhere near as good as some of the thermal carafes on the market today.“
