CoffeeGeek - Royal Balance Brewer - Mark Chalkley's Review

CoffeeGeek - Royal Balance Brewer - Mark Chalkley's Review ()

„First of all, the only "weakness" I've found in the Royal is extraction times that are shorter than they should be to achieve the perfect cup of coffee.  I didn't expect the Royal to make better coffee than my Hario vac pots, because I didn't really think it was likely that any coffee maker which "automates" any part of the process (the extinguishing of the heat source in the case of the Royal) could reliably make better coffee than the fully manual control allowed by Hario, and similar, vac pots.  As it turns out, I may have been mistaken in this assumption, but more on that later...“

CoffeeGeek - Technivorm Clubline - All - James McNab's Review CoffeeGeek - Technivorm Clubline - All - James McNab's Review

„ I ignored this part of the manual because when you turn the machine on to brew the coffee, the hot plate is also turned on to a lower setting.  There is an optional switch that may also be turned on once the machine is brewing that heats the hot plate up to full capacity.  I was originally contemplating the thermal carafe model of the Clubline but was led to this model by Cheryl at Boyd's.  She mentioned that the thermal carafe with the Clubline isn't anywhere near as good as some of the thermal carafes on the market today.“

„ And I like the boiler for its quick heating, fast recovery and the ability to quickly clear stale water from the boiler from the day before, just because of the small capacity.  I'm just careful to use the right cleaner on the aluminum boiler (Cleancaf).“

CoffeeGeek - Chemex Drip Device - Shane Olson's Review CoffeeGeek - Chemex Drip Device - Shane Olson's Review

„I purchased this coffee maker slightly on a whim from a coffee store that was closing.  I don't usually make drip coffee and I wanted some way to make larger quantities of coffee if I have guests over.  Bonus points for style too.“

CoffeeGeek - Saeco Classico - Scott Griswold's Review CoffeeGeek - Saeco Classico - Scott Griswold's Review

„shipping was free within US, and it came with coffee pods, 2 cups, coffee book, and video.  I would recommend this machine without hesitation, I was making very good tasting expresso drinks within the first couple tries.  I had never used an expresso machine so I had to learn how much milk to add, how to get lots of foam and just the basic steps to follow.  I am using an expresso blend called Valos which is sold in Borders bookstores in their coffee shop, the expresso I make tastes as good as the expresso their commercial machine makes using the same coffee.“

CoffeeGeek - Hario Nouveau Review - Detailed Review, Part One CoffeeGeek - Hario Nouveau Review - Detailed Review, Part One

„As I stated on the first page, the Hario Nouveau is easily the best looking and best designed vacuum brewer I own. I believe this model to be the current highpoint of design and function in double globe vacuum brewer designs currently available today. The materials are first rate, from a black metal base and chromed stand, to high quality plastics (that don't look like plastics) and quality glass.“
