CoffeeGeek - Proctor Silex Coffee - All - Roger Scanlon's Review ()

„I bought this model because I was very happy with the quality of coffee produced by the earlier, non-timer model of the Proctor Silex Easy Morning.  The coffee is nice and hot, it has a two hour auto shut off, and it makes twelve cups.  The swing-out basket is easy to emply, and I really liked the timer.“

CoffeeGeek - Saeco Magic Deluxe - Marie Zeffer's Review CoffeeGeek - Saeco Magic Deluxe - Marie Zeffer's Review

„ Also, cleaning is quick and easy.  The machine lets me know how often to decalcify with a warning light, which I've done only twice in one year.  About once every four to six weeks (I know I should be doing this more often), I take the brew chamber out by opening up the side of the machine and give it a thorough cleaning first with the vacuum cleaner and then with a damp sponge.  The brew chamber just slides out, I give it a good wash with a sponge and water, and it is just as easy to put back in.“

CoffeeGeek - Faema Machines - All - Becky Gutteridge's Review CoffeeGeek - Faema Machines - All - Becky Gutteridge's Review

„ The technician who fixed both gave me a good price, but he said that if he'd had to order the parts (he had a couple of broken faemas in his basement that he took the parts from) they would've been expensive and hard to find.  He didn't seem to like the main people at Faema because of what they charge for parts, and how hard it is to find them.  Just because of that, I'd be tempted to buy a different machine.“

CoffeeGeek - Zassenhaus Manual Mill - Youngberg Youngberg's Review

„There is only one functional difference between a Zassenhaus BOX MILL versus a Zassenhaus KNEE MILL that I could find.  The KNEE MILL contains an internal ceramic chute which would be very useful for someone who regularly grinds with a very fine setting for an espresso pump machine.  The Zassenhaus  BOX MILL does not have this feature.“

CoffeeGeek - Krups Espremio Machines - Phil Rodriguez's Review CoffeeGeek - Krups Espremio Machines - Phil Rodriguez's Review

„ But after only 3 months, I'm convinced that I  brewed every last bit of potential out of it, and its time to move on.  The most obvious flaw of this machine is its inability to make double shots.  It only comes with a single shot filter basket (the box only says that the machine is "ideal for one cup of espresso at a time" but does not specify that you can't make double shots), and apparently Krups doesn't even make a double shot basket that is compatible with this portafilter model.   By the time you rinse and reload, the turnaround time to brew another shot is too great, so forget about a double shot.“

CoffeeGeek - FreshRoast Roaster - Michael Rich's Review CoffeeGeek - FreshRoast Roaster - Michael Rich's Review

„I was nervous about buying a roaster because of mixed reviews I'd heard about the late Hearthware Precision. With the FreshRoast, I think I've gotten something I can live with. A home roaster simply can't roast a pound every morning with something like this and expect it to last long. So with reasonable expectations, I dove in.“
