CoffeeGeek - Mr Coffee Auto Drip - All (#)
„Bottom Line: Much better than hot plate type brewers which burn coffee from sitting and very often brew too quickly. If you have to use a drip machine, get one with a thermal carafe and showerhead design like this one.“

„My only concern about this review, is the fact that CG even requested a no thermal carafe version. If your in this forum you probably know that a hot plate is a no no. If your reviewing for the site, well, the author knows this. Basically, he orders a machine from a company that offers two thermal carafe version of the machine, knowing full well that it will fail keeping the coffee "fresh" for one hour on a hot plate, then proceeds to bash the machine for that very reason.“

„ If you just game it a little bit 8 cup setting with 6 cups water, or 10 cup setting with 6 cups water and play with the grinder setting, you can brew very strong coffee. Not expresso mind you, but good strong coffee (I use Seattle Mtn. Coffee). The grinder is loud if you standing in the kitchen, but what grinder isn't (the grounds are nicely ground and can be seen through the viewing port)?“

„ There is an optional switch that may also be turned on once the machine is brewing that heats the hot plate up to full capacity. I was originally contemplating the thermal carafe model of the Clubline but was led to this model by Cheryl at Boyd's. She mentioned that the thermal carafe with the Clubline isn't anywhere near as good as some of the thermal carafes on the market today. She recommended the CD model, especially as she has one herself.“

„ Machines that use only one element for warming and brewing often don't have enough juice for hitting this brew temperature. I measured the temperature of the water coming out of the Villaware and it is 197F. I had real hopes that this would be the case because of the dual heating elements and it is!“
