„There are a couple of companies out there that sell flavoring for coffee beans....I don't think it will be to your advantage to buy from them because you have to buy a minimum of 7.5lbs of one flavor..(adds up to about a gallon of syrup..)Price ranges from $12.00 a pound and up... You could probably use vanilla extract but I don't know how it would taste... Most flavoring is 3% w/w (weight to weight) which is 1/2oz of flavoring to 1lb of coffee....“

Flavored coffees are good but inexpensive coffees, roasted to a medium to medium-dark brown, and mixed with liquid flavoring agents that soak into the beans. The flavorings are a modified version of those used throughout the food industry. You occasionally may see actual bits of nuts, fruit, or spice mixed in with the beans, but these components merely dress up the mix and give it a natural look.“

„A coffee bean acts like its own container, holding in flavorful oils and aromatic compounds. Once the beans are ground, the flavor is exposed for brewing -but if brewing doesn't happen right away the flavor and aroma dissipate. Grinding the coffee yourself is not only the best way to enjoy the freshest coffee, it's also the first step in experiencing the aroma of the coffee even before you brew it.“
