CoffeeGeek - Lovegrove Kettle - T. Guilbert's Review (#)
„We have informally timed the Lovegrove against our previous kettle (a heavy gauge enameled steel kettle from M. Kamenstein that we bought at Bed, Bath & Beyond), but we have not had the means to be rigorous in our testing, because both kettles are opaque and it is not possible to observe the water directly as it is heating in order to time the two kettles to the identical level of heating. However, on the same (induction) burner at the same setting with an equal amount of water (four cups, or one quart) directly from the same tap (about 50 degrees F.), the Lovegrove kettle took on the long side of eight minutes to bring the water to a sufficient boil to induce rapid flapping of the disk, while the M. Kamenstein kettle took on the short side of ten minutes to generate an audible whistle.“

„I think I'd like to modify that – good coffee is good in a completely different way when it's cold. Nothing is left of what used to make it a good coffee. Nothing remains of the other three stages of the cup, no body or acidity, floral scents or mouth feel. Nothing is nameable or identifiable, tangible or tasteable.“
