CoffeeGeek - Krups Moka Brew Pressure Brewer (#)
„Back in the day I thought Krups, along with Braun, were the uber cool of the small appliance world (don't even get me started on Braun!)As we come closer to present day, I not only learned but experienced how the difference in brewing temperatures can affect cup quality. Maybe my palate's tuned big time but I can notice big time sour notes from a coffee brewed only 10F below optimal. And I could taste that sourness, along with a lack of any real body in almost every pot of Krups - made coffee I've had in the last four years.“

„And they took up the challenge. I was sent two coffee brewers by Capresso - the Capresso CoffeeTEC, and the subject of this First Look - the Capresso MT500.“

„My first attempt at purchasing a decent auto drip machine was a failure when I purchased a simple Braun Aromaster. Obviously this machine does not brew at the proper water temperature since the coffee was always just lukewarm and very dull in flavor just after completion of brewing. The KitchenAid machine produces a hot and very satisfying cup.“

„The Hario Nouveau isn't cheap, but it's probably one of the most beautiful vacuum brewers available today.“

„One thing to realise is that we're not just talking about a typical Krups brewer here; nor are we talking about coffee maker that simply brews at the right temperatures. We're talking about a new brewing method; one that is new to North America at least. We're talking about a pressure brewing coffee system that borrows from both the auto drip world, and the moka pot world.“

„It is with this in mind that I was very happy to accept one of the most gizmo-laden coffee brewers you can find on the market today: the Capresso CoffeeTEC coffee brewer. This brewer is a swiss army knife of coffee brewers. It brews.“
