CoffeeGeek - Frothing Pitchers, Devices - Andrea Watkins's Review ()

„ The line is perfectly calibrated and even a wee bit extra milk can cause overflowing; overflowing is proportional to overfilling.   Full = enough milk for a double latte.  You can add less milk, but if you fill less than half full you can't froth.  (It's really not as hard at this may sound.“

„Your articles made me long for the days I was involved in the coffee industry-and even got to go to the SCAA show last year in Miami!  You got much more schwag than I did last year (I didn't get any coffee beans), but I managed a calendar, some Earl Grey tea for my husband, some little plastic trinkets from Greater Houston Coffee Council (the city I'm from...they're lobbying to make Houston a coffee port), a burlap shoulder bag from the Puerto Rico booth, and a nifty little latte cup necklace from a place called Silver Legacy.  Man, it was great!  I had so much great coffee there, too!“

Henman looked nervous in the opening set as Srichapan, ranked 104th on the current ATP tour, upset the apple cart by playing some precise ground strokes to silence the most fervent supporters of the Briton. Recent losses on grass to the unknown American Bob Bryan at Queen's and Sweden's Jonas Bjorkman at Nottingham must have cast seeds of doubt in his Thai opponent's mind over how much more superior Henman was.“

„I was wondering if anyone knew about sweetening coffee (or tea) with fructose? I was living in CA for a while and frequented a little tea shop (that also served iced coffees!) that was quite wonderful. I asked about their sweetener and they told me that they used fructose.“

CoffeeGeek - Capresso Pro Espresso Machine - Jonathan Friedes's Review CoffeeGeek - Capresso Pro Espresso Machine - Jonathan Friedes's Review

„ You may not be able to make great espresso without a grinder, but with an outlay of about $250 for this machine you can make espresso that's better than most of what I've had in the US or Italy.  When you consider that a commonly recommended "starter outfit" is the Gaggia Carezza espresso machine at about $250 coupled with the $110 Solis Maestro or the $150 Solis Maestro Plus grinder, the EspressoPro is worth a good look.  This is particularly true if you live near a source of freshly ground coffee (I've gotten much better results with Peets or Starbucks ground to a "5" on the Ditting grinders in the store than with tinned Illy or LaVazza preground).  And in 2004, who doesn't live within spitting distance of a Starbucks?“
