CoffeeGeek - Espresso: Espresso Blends, Black Cat Hi Test/Decaf ()

„The Monsooned bean's yes, & decaf bean's (I'm quessing/extrapolating here),in a by volume measure will weigh less.If going by a weight measure the bean's mass will occupy a greater volume, lighter for a volume measure, (say a 1 cup measure for example), aren't as dense, & therefore roast faster. In the Alp if I roast 227gr, 8oz of Malabar, I run the risk of spillage out of the roasting drum, & cut back approx 10 - 15% by weight to account for the greater volume/mass that the bean's occupy.“

CoffeeGeek - Coffee: General Discussion, Freshness of Green Beans CoffeeGeek - Coffee: General Discussion, Freshness of Green Beans

„ The accepted life cycle of a green bean is usually about one year, and when a new crop is available, any coffee left over is then referred to as "past crop".  How the green coffee is processed by the grower is also of great effect.  Terms like "natural", "washed", and "semi-washed" are all used to describe different methods of cleaning and drying green coffee before it is bagged and sold.  The drying method will also have great effect on the "life" of the green coffee.“

„may be of interest to you! Just search for "cocoa" and there's an article that explains the dangers of cocoa bean mulch to dogs (apparently the same substances exist in both coffee beans and chocolate beans that can harm animals: namely, methylxanthines theobromine and caffeine) .It's interesting that the effects in animals are widely varied... may explain your dog's lack of reaction!“

CoffeeGeek - Moka Pots - All Types - Jeremy Close's Review CoffeeGeek - Moka Pots - All Types - Jeremy Close's Review

„So does it make crema? About as much as your average coffee shop espresso - not much - but this varies with bean type. Coffee for Connisseurs' "Alan's Blend" made a thin covering over the full cup. Their "Mocha/Java" which is meant to make "gobs of crema" when brewed as machine espresso made hardly any.“
