CoffeeGeek - Espresso: Espresso Blends, Best Espresso for Mochas? (#)
„I found out recently I'm not the only espresso snob in my house. I make an ice blended mocha for my 17 year old stepson, and formerly thought he didn't notice the difference when I used fresh stuff, or the older beans in my supply, or store bought beans my wife uses, which are always stale and sometimes too dark for my taste.“

„The original javas and mochasin fact, all important coffee at one timewere arabicas. But Mocha has practically gone out of business, and Java was forced long ago by mass destruction of its arabica plantings from leaf rust to substitute more disease-resistant robustas. Nowadays, some high-grade arabicas are called java and mocha even though they may be grown elsewhere.“

„Late last year I was getting (domestic) supplies of Chocolate syrup - for mochas - from Beans 'n Machines in Freo, but even after asking them to order some they haven't increased their stock in months. So I have finally given them up as a loss and looking for a new supplier, which isn't easy in the 'southern suburbs'. Anyone know of a domestic supplier in Freo/Rockingham/Mandurah?“

„Omanhene’s cocoa powder has that taste I like in my mocha, and so does the SUBX. SBUX is cheaper though. The only problem that I have with SBUX’s powder, is that my mocha bubbles up after sitting for awhile...Maybe I am not doing a good job mixing the powder with water...“

„Later, in college, I gravitated to a coffeehouse that made Mexican chocolate mochas because they reminded me of home. So when I began my signature drink research, I looked into traditional Mexican coffee drinks. Browsing through your local bookstore or library may be the perfect way to get ideas for exciting signature drinks.“
