„They told me that a typical Italian espresso tastes like a good double espresso from the Torrefazione coffee house chain in the USA. To me that means that Italian espressos are not good because the best espresso from Torrefazione is bad compared to the best of Barefoot, Stumptown, Vivace, Zoka, Hines, Vita etc. (Note: these folks were taking about the 2004 Torrefazione).“

„I am Italian, and for me espresso (or simply " caffe' " as we say), it's not something connected to a new fashion or a way to play with yet another toy ;-)“

„Is there anyone who can tell me something about the La Nuova Era espresso machines. They are Italian made and are for home use, as well as professional use. Please share your experiences.“

„It seems to have the same Conical Burr cluster of the regular Maestro and a significantly more solid base as well as more grinding steps. I have been testing it with an ECM Giotto prosumer espresso machine as well as the Gaggia Classic and Rancilio Silvia home machines.“

„As I am starting in the espresso world, I am looking to find a good local source for great Italian coffee beans that are well-priced for what you are getting. Having tasted and liked Lavazza coffees (Top Class and Pienaroma) I am particularly interested in finding a source for them. I know that Milano's in Montreal sells them for about 20 - 25 per kilo, but I was wondering if anybody knows any Toronto sources like this. Any other local suggestions to try would be great.“
